Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with diabetes. Diabetes is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease in both men and women. Almost 65% of the diabetes patients report a CVD-related death. The research has also found that diabetics have lesser possibilities of survival in CVD than patients without diabetes.
