Dr. Naveen Kumar Mattewada is one of the best nephrologists in Hyderabad. With extensive experience in managing complex kidney disorders across high-volume tertiary care settings, he is currently serving as a Senior Consultant - Nephrology at Citizens Speialty Hospital, Hyderabad. With a strong foundation in transplant medicine and critical care nephrology, he is known for delivering advanced, patient-centric renal care.

Dr Naveen has performed the first live-related kidney transplant in Warangal, Telangana, and played a key role in establishing Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) services, significantly elevating critical care nephrology capabilities in the area.

His clinical expertise spans the complete spectrum of renal medicine, including chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, glomerular diseases, dialysis, and high‑risk kidney transplantation, with specialized proficiency in ABO‑incompatible transplants and complex interventional nephrology procedures.

As a GlomCon Fellow with advanced training in glomerular diseases, Dr Naveen brings a strong academic and research-oriented approach to patient care. His research interests focus on environmental nephrology, particularly kidney disorders caused by heavy metal exposure. He is actively involved in teaching, mentorship, and clinical research, and has contributed to numerous national and international medical journals.
